4 years ago, when I came to Kenya for the first time, my videos were spotted by a local Olympic athlete, and we started chatting on Instagram. We were supposed to meet, but we were never in the same country at the same time! Finally, it happened, so I took a 6-8 hour bus ride to Eldoret and then a matatu (a van used as a local bus that illegally fits 5 people per row instead of 3) for 1 hour, and I finally arrived in a village called Iten, The Home of Champions!
She hosted me in her guesthouse, and I had the chance to meet so many marathon runners and learn from them and their incredible work ethic: many wake up at 5:30, run at 6 for a couple of hours, sleep, then run again around 3 pm, and then sleep again. It’s not an easy life, and it is super competitive!
In the first video I shot, I explored this tiny place to see what is like to live in the Home of Champions!
Please, watch it and share it with your friends!
