I was born to an Italian dad and a Polish mom in Rome, Italy.
Since I was a kid, I have always traveled between the two countries and learned about the two cultures and languages.
Every summer we would depart from Rome, in the center of Italy, and drive up to Szczecin, in the north of Poland.
It would usually take us about two days to reach the destination, with a stop in a hostel in Innsbruck, Austria, or, when possible, we’d stop to visit some friends in Munich, Germany.
During these long trips, the best way to kill time was to read books, mostly novels of adventure and exploration.
My mom would always tell me: If you want toys, I won’t buy you: but if you want a book, choose one.
It’s her fault that at some point in my life, I became a writer, and instead of sitting in class, I skipped school to go to the library.
I’ve got a couple of books published, and I was out of my mind thinking I didn’t need a university degree because I was going to become a successful regardless.
But real big fat money never came into my pocket, so I shifted my storytelling to the video format.
I went into YouTube, got scholarships in film schools in Italy and Cuba, and even if I don’t really apply all the things I learned, I feel I can be better than everyone else.
And this keeps me going despite having only 59.397 (now 129,000) subscribers, and zero savings in my bank account (and still zero savings).
I know my potential, and I know someday things are gonna shift really quickly.
During these long trips, if I wasn’t reading, my father would mostly tell me stories about Roman and worldwide history. He knew every corner of our country, he knew every single interesting fact.
When in school, I always felt like I didn’t need to study History, cause he had already taught me a lot, it was incredible!
A few years ago, when he died, I wished I had learned more about him than all the things he taught me.
I wish I had asked him more questions.
I wish I had spent more time with him in the family shop where he was working night and day to sustain our family.
I wish I had traveled with him and mom to more places.
I wish I had recorded videos with him… and here comes YouTube, and one of the reasons I record my life and my friends, I want to have these memories forever!
Mom and Dad instilled in me storytelling and traveling. I am just a product of their passions.
